Walt Disney World Resort will hold its 50th anniversary celebration called “The World’s Most Magical Celebration.” The celebration will run for 18 months, from October 1, 2021 to April 1, 2023. As a part of the celebration, they begin the install special gold character statues across all four of its Florida theme parks.
Disney says the sculptures pay homage to the past 50 years of Walt Disney World while “ushering us into the next 50 years and beyond.”
As visitors wander around the various parks, hey will be greeted by such iconic characters as Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Pluto and Chip ‘n’ Dale, to name a few. Guests are encouraged to virtually “collect” each sculpture y taking a photo and sharing them on social media with the tag #DisneyWorld50.
