The beloved actor, known by his younger fans for his iconic role as Carl Fredricksen in the Disney Pixar film “Up”, has passed away at the age of 91 on the 29th of August 2021.
The 7-time Emmy award winner was pronounced dead by his family on Twitter Sunday afternoon.
Five of his Emmys were achieved through his role as ‘Grant’, a news anchor on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show.” His other two awards were earned for his roles in “Rich Man, Poor Man” and “Roots” both shown on ABC in the late 70’s.
The legendary actor is survived by his four children Kate, Liza, Matthew, and Charles. Not only will the film industry miss this incredibly talented man, but generations old and new will remember the emotional impact created by the roles in which Mr. Asner participated.
