Since I watched the first Venom movie, I was hooked with Tom Hardy’s portrayal of Eddie Brock. In the first film Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) loses his job as a journalist due to an interview gone wrong. Eddie losing his job made him also lose his now ex-fiancée Anne Weying (Michelle Williams). While continuing to investigate he comes into contact with the alien symbiote, Venom, that merges with Brock.
After merging with Venom, Eddie and Venom must defeat Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed) who has also bonded with a symbiote known as Riot the “leader” of the symbiotes. Riot merges with Drake so they can go to space and collect the rest of the symbiotes and bring them to Earth. But Anne has caused Eddie and Venom to unmerge then Eddie is captured by Drake’s men to try and get Venom back. Venom and Eddie end up remerging and defeat Drake and Riot with the help of Anne but also causing damage to themselves in the process.
In the mid-credit's scene, Brock is invited to interview serial killer Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson) who is in prison. After meeting Eddie, the movie ends with Cletus promising “carnage” when he escapes. This is around the point that the second movie should pick up from.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage is set to release October 15, 2021. I highly recommend that you watch the first film then watch the second when its out.
