Thank You to Those Who Inspired me

Fuel

I started back at WVC with a crazy dream and a furnace of passion. Since my time here, I have met some great people who have fueled my undying imagination. Graduating and forming connections have been the first steps in my lifelong journey. As I reflect, I wanted to thank those who have helped and supported me. From the bottom of my heart, I sincerely thank each of you.

Cindy Smith

Since the day I entered your office to speak with you about starting here, you have been my greatest support. You saw a spark in me, which you only made brighter by the passing days. You were there for me when I questioned my efforts and believed in me, no matter how I felt about myself. I couldn't have done

this without you.

You have given me so many great opportunities, ones that I used to dream of. Being able to visit different universities, taking your classes, and even going to Washington, D.C., were some of the best experiences of my time here. You made college so much fun, and I always felt so welcomed when I stepped into your office.

I have learned so much from you. Your care for each student is unmatched across campus. You have a smile that glows brighter than the sun. I am so lucky to know you. You can turn a quiet room into one full of music. Cindy, you are wonderful. Thank you so much for what you have done for me, and what you will continue to do for incoming students. You are the queen of WVC.

Jill Winter

Ms. Winter, I had absolutely no confidence in my writing whatsoever when I started here. So, when you give praise to my words, it means the world to me. I want to tell stories, and your classes have given me the chance to start.

You are also really fun! Your assignments have a lot of thought behind them, and I can tell you give your career your all. Getting to know you through our conversations has been a pleasure. You have a very fluent way with words, conveying your thoughts very well. You speak in poetry, something I try to emulate.

You have become an inspiring figure to me, teaching me so much about myself. You shifted my dream of

becoming a writer/director, making me feel like I have a real opportunity to do so. You boost my morale and always give sensational feedback. Thank you for seeing something in me that I never even considered. You are the bard of WVC.

Kyle Peach

Kyle, you have done so much for me. Our conversations have been memorable and insightful. The projects you created for your class have been fun and engaging. You are a prominent inspiration to me.

Pillars of Support.

You may sometimes wonder if your students are truly listening, and I want you to know that I always was. The stories you tell of when you were younger, getting your start, have actually been really fun to hear. You have so much personality and talent, you are such an uplifting person.

Everyone who knows you speaks highly of you and aspires to be like you. I recognize how busy you are, so it means all the more that you take time to teach. I once thanked you for my internship position, and you responded, "It's what I do." Well, what you do is outstanding! You make dreams a reality for so many people. Thank you for mentoring me. You are the sage of WVC.

As I graduate, I want to once again thank each of you for the support, encouragement, and guidance you’ve given me throughout my time here. I am on my way to achieving my dreams, and I truly could not have done it without all of you believing in me and pushing me to succeed. The experiences, lessons, and opportunities I’ve been given here have helped shape both my future and my confidence in myself.

Once I earn my degree, I plan to return and complete the radio and broadcasting program, because my passion for media and communication has only continued to grow. I’m excited to see where life takes me next, and I'm grateful for the foundation this school has provided me. I look forward to seeing all of you again and making you proud as I continue pursuing my goals.
